Updated over 2 months ago

Overview

Surge’s brand represents integrity, innovation, and professionalism. Consistent use of our name, logo, and visual identity helps protect the brand’s reputation and ensures that all communications reflect the same high standards. These guidelines outline how members and partners may use Surge branding in marketing, presentations, and other public materials.

Purpose

These guidelines ensure that Surge’s visual and verbal identity is used correctly and consistently across all media. They also protect the company’s trademarks and intellectual property from misuse, misrepresentation, or dilution.

Scope

This policy applies to all Surge members, affiliates, EPC and financing partners, vendors, and consultants who create or distribute content - including digital media, print materials, websites, proposals, advertisements, or public presentations that reference Surge.

Proper Use of the Surge Brand

Name Usage

  • Always refer to the company as Surge or Surge Enterprises, depending on context.

  • Do not alter, abbreviate, or modify the name (e.g., “Surge Energy,” “Surge Co,” or “UseSurge” as a standalone brand).

  • The platform website and domain name usesurge.com may be referenced in communications, but not used as part of an independent business name or URL.

Logo Usage

  • Only use official Surge logos provided in the Brand Assets section of your member dashboard or media kit.

  • Do not distort, recolor, crop, or overlay text on the Surge logo.

  • Maintain clear spacing around the logo to ensure visibility and professionalism.

  • Do not place the logo over busy backgrounds or use it in unapproved colors.

Taglines and Sub-Brands

  • Approved Surge taglines (e.g., Building the Hypergrid) or solution-specific emojis (☀️ 🔋 💡 🔌) may be used when referencing official Surge services.

  • Do not create new taglines, graphics, or derivative brand phrases without written approval from the Surge marketing team.

  • Sub-brand emojis (like Surge Solar ☀️ or Surge Storage 🔋) may be used for clarity, but only in official Surge contexts.

Prohibited Use

Members and partners may not:

  • Use the Surge name, logo, or assets to imply ownership or employment by Surge.

  • Modify or combine Surge branding with personal or external brand names.

  • Use Surge trademarks on personal business cards, merchandise, or websites without explicit written consent.

  • Register any domain, handle, or social profile that includes “Surge” or similar variations intended to appear as an official brand channel.

  • Apply Surge branding to unapproved materials, such as independent proposal templates, training content, or unrelated promotional items.

Co-Branding Guidelines

When co-branding with your own business or organization:

  • Always present the Surge logo secondary to your company logo when both are shown together.

  • Include a line of context such as: “In collaboration with Surge” or “Independent Consultant with Surge.”

  • Use Surge-approved templates whenever possible to maintain consistency.

Social Media and Online Representation

  • Members are encouraged to reference Surge professionally in bios or content, using phrasing such as “Independent Consultant with Surge” or “Partnered with Surge.”

  • Avoid creating unofficial Surge pages, groups, or profiles without approval.

  • Tag official Surge accounts when referencing company initiatives or training updates.

  • Do not speak on behalf of the company or make unverified announcements.

Intellectual Property Rights

All Surge names, logos, taglines, and platform materials are protected under copyright and trademark law. Members and partners may not copy, license, reproduce, or distribute these assets beyond approved promotional use. Surge reserves the right to revoke usage privileges or pursue legal action for misuse or misrepresentation.

Obtaining Brand Assets

Official Surge logos, fonts, and templates are available through your member dashboard under Marketing → Brand Assets. For approval on co-branded materials or marketing use, contact the marketing team at [email protected].
