Core Compensation Terms

Commissionable Value (CV)

The Commissionable Value is the portion of total project revenue used to calculate commissions, overrides, and bonuses. CV is determined by project type, pricing structure, and partner agreements. For example, if a project’s Commissionable Value is $100,000 and your compensation plan pays 25% of CV, your commission is $25,000.

Override

An Override is a percentage of commission earned by a Mentor or sponsor based on a downline member’s completed project. Overrides align incentives between team members and leadership to promote collaboration and performance.

Bonus

A Bonus is an additional incentive payment that may be awarded for achieving production milestones, advancing in rank, or participating in company challenges. Bonuses are distinct from standard commissions and overrides.

Project & Proposal Terms

LOI (Letter of Intent)

A Letter of Intent (LOI) signifies a client’s formal interest in pursuing a project with Surge. It outlines the basic terms, scope, and intent to move forward pending detailed proposals or financing approval. An LOI is often used to trigger project qualification and early-stage EPC engagement.

EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Partner)

An EPC Partner is a vetted company responsible for the technical design, equipment procurement, and installation of a project. Surge partners only with qualified EPCs that meet safety, licensing, and quality standards.

AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction)

The Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) refers to the local agency or department that enforces building, electrical, or safety codes for a project. AHJ approval is required before installation begins and is often necessary for inspections and final commissioning.

Proposal

A Proposal is the formal presentation of a project solution, including system design, pricing, incentives, and financing terms. Proposals must be prepared using approved Surge tools (e.g., OpenSolar) and reviewed by a Mentor or EPC before client delivery.

Project Process Terms

Project Lifecycle

The full journey of a project from lead submission through final installation and payment. Includes qualification, proposal, contracting, permitting, installation, and funding stages.

Funding Confirmation

The verification that payment for a project has been received from the client, lender, or financing partner. Funding confirmation triggers the commission review and release process.

Commission Release

The final step in the compensation process - when funds are transferred to the member after project completion, funding verification, and compliance review.

Partner & System Terms

Partner

A Partner may refer to any company or organization working with Surge to complete or finance a project, including EPCs, manufacturers, or lenders.

Member

A Member refers to any independent representative operating under Surge’s structure (Scout, Strategist, or Mentor).
Members are not employees but independent contractors following Surge’s standards and agreements.

Dashboard

Your Dashboard is the central portal on usesurge.com where you manage leads, track projects, monitor commissions, and access training and compliance materials.
