Purpose
As Surge grows, strong leadership becomes the foundation for success.
Mentors and Strategists are encouraged to build and lead teams that operate with professionalism, clarity, and consistency.
This document is to provide Mentors and Strategists with clear expectations and best practices for recruiting, training, and supporting their downline team members. Effective leadership ensures that Surge continues to scale responsibly, with each new member receiving proper guidance and training.
Building Your Team
Recruiting New Members
You can build your team by inviting new members using your personal referral link or the Invite Member form in your dashboard. Every person who joins through your link is automatically connected to you as their sponsor.
Focus on quality over quantity. It’s better to develop a small group of engaged, ethical, and consistent producers than a large, inactive roster.
Ideal Recruits:
Motivated professionals who align with Surge’s mission
Individuals with experience in sales, energy, or commercial networking
Members who value mentorship and collaboration
Setting Expectations Early
Strong teams start with clear communication. When bringing someone onto your team:
Explain the structure (Scout → Strategist → Mentor) & the role they’re starting in.
Set goals and expectations for activity, training attendance, and professionalism.
Emphasize compliance, ethics, and accuracy from day one.
Encourage them to attend Orientation and Weekly Trainings right away.
Create a foundation of mutual accountability and respect - not just recruiting for numbers.
Mentoring and Support
Your role as a team leader is to guide, not manage. Provide consistent mentorship through:
Weekly check-ins or team huddles
Reviewing project progress and helping troubleshoot roadblocks
Encouraging members to follow proper qualification and proposal procedures
Recognizing wins and progress publicly
Encourage autonomy - the goal is to nurture and support your teammates, but not hand-hold them forever. If you're successful in striking this balance, you will help develop independent Strategists who eventually become Mentors themselves!
Communication and Collaboration
Use Surge’s official communication channels for team updates, document sharing, and coaching. Avoid mixing personal social media groups or unverified chat platforms for business communication.
Best Practices:
Keep communication positive and solution-focused
Share company updates accurately (never speculate or pre-announce)
Redirect questions about systems or payouts to [email protected]
Leadership communication should model clarity, professionalism, and consistency.
Downline Tracking and Organization
Your dashboard will show all team members connected under your referral link or invitation form.
You’ll be able to:
View team structure and progress
Track commissions and activity volume
Monitor advancement milestones
Until then, maintain your own simple tracking sheet for contacts, statuses, and project flow.
Leadership Accountability
Team builders are expected to uphold Surge’s Code of Conduct, Policies & Procedures, and Compensation & Qualification Plan.
Violations of ethics or compliance - including misleading recruiting, false income claims, or circumventing Surge systems - may result in removal from leadership roles and forfeiture of commissions.
Surge recognizes and rewards leaders who build responsibly, ethically, and collaboratively.
Growth Mindset
Building a successful team takes time, patience, and consistency.
Lead from service - not authority.
Focus on creating momentum, not dependency.
Leadership at Surge isn’t about hierarchy - it’s about harmony. The strongest teams grow together. When your team wins, you win.
